Earlier this year I spoke at a Mumpreneurs Masterclass – the brainchild of uber-talented working mum, Penny Webb. My topic was ‘Brand’ and my challenge was to share with a bunch of motivated self-employed mums how big companies do it – well, at least the ones I’ve worked for.

“Be consistent,” I declared.

“Be polished,” I preached.

“Don’t be afraid to get professional help,” I implored.

Then I came home, booted up my laptop and looked at my own blog.

Hmmm.

Then I flicked over to my business website.

Double hmmm.

Time to practise what I preach, which is why you might notice things are looking a little different on Melodramatic Me.

But wait, there’s more. Melodramatic Me has a sister. A bigger and slightly more sensible sister – my rebranded business website that you can check out here.

So now I feel coordinated. You know – that content feeling when you know your undies match your bra? But this isn’t just any kind of underwear. This is designer underwear, and the label is Jarod and Liz Productions.

I can lend my voice to the growing chorus of bloggers who have asked Jarod and Liz to wave their magic designer wands their way. These guys are so switched on. During the process we didn’t even speak in person – it was all done via email – something that some of the biggest advertising agencies I’ve worked during my career couldn’t match.

The photos are the work of Mel Koutchavlis from www.koutchavlis.com who I initially asked to update my standard professional head and shoulders shot, but we couldn’t resist having a bit of melodramatic fun at the same time. Her work is amazing. Seriously, I reckon she could help Jabba the Hut hide his double chins.

So that’s me. Standing here in my brand new matching bra and undies, ready to start a new year. All that’s left now is to write…
